Cleanse Eve...Or maybe not

Happy Cleanse Eve!  I hope everyone is still feeling great. If you haven't purchased a shaker cup to help you with your daily shakes....wow!  What a great little invention that is!  They are $7 and have a little wire ball at the bottom to really mix the powder and liquid.  Fantastic and so easy to use!

Tomorrow is the big state standardized test for students here in Arizona.  It's a long week of tests and security measures you can't believe to validate the precious answers of my struggling 4th graders.
Part of those security measures are the limited trips in/out of the room.  Hhhmmm...I bet you see where I am going.
I think this week isn't the best week for me to try "deep" cleanse phase of this endeavor.  I am imagining  myself not only wondering how long until I need Depends for my critical bladder control  but how long until I need Pampers for the rest of what would be to come.
So, the cleanse is on hold for now.  I'm full steam ahead on all previous efforts but this ramp up is going to have to hold off.  Duty calls (literally).
I am anxious to hear how it goes for you!  Please drop me an email or comment on the blog to let me know.
Cheers and the Best of Luck to all of us teachers on AIMS this week!

7- Day Cleanse PART 2...what to expect..

I haven't tried the 7-Day Cleanse product before so I did a little research online to see what others are saying.  I know it is a gentle cleanse, however, it is intended to purge your body of toxins. The worse you have treated your body with chemicals, poor diet, alcohol etc.  the stronger the experience with the program.  The good news is that we started it on Day 14, so you have had a jump start on detoxifying.
Like all things associated with the human body, everyone is unique and different.  Your experience may not be like the one below.  I am simply sharing it to give you an idea of what someone else experienced and ease any anxieties you may have surrounding "bathroom emergencies."

Note:  The packaging has changed due to efforts to be a 'greener' company

7 Day Body Cleanse FAQs & 30 Days to Feeling Fit Video

Detoxification is important to our health to cleanse and detoxify our system and support our gastrointestinal (GI) tract.  Arbonne's 7-Day Body Cleanse assists with the gentle elimination of toxins.

Is the 7-Day Body Cleanse gluten-free?
Yes.

What is the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
The 7-Day Body Cleanse is a cleansing beverage of detoxifying botanicals. The marine botanicals infused in this concentrated treatment stimulate, strengthen and support health and beauty from the inside out by assisting with elimination and flushing out excess fluids.

When should I use the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
You may begin drinking the 7-Day Body Cleanse at your convenience. It is recommended to drink one bottle of concentrate mixed with one quart (32 oz.) of water throughout the day, every day, for seven consecutive days. Repeat usage once a month for maximum benefits.

How should I use the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
Add one serving (a 1 oz. bottle) of concentrate to a quart (32 oz.) of water, shake to mix, and drink throughout the day. The natural ingredients may settle at the bottom of the container, so be sure to shake well before each use.
After I mix the 7-Day Body Cleanse, should I drink it all at once?
Drink the mixture throughout the day. Try drinking 8 oz. with the 7-Day Body Cleanse mixture and follow with 8 oz. of water. It is okay to take your time drinking the 7-Day Body Cleanse and the water. Repeat until the 7-Day Body Cleanse is gone and you have drunk an additional 32 oz. of water.

Can I store the already mixed 7-Day Body Cleanse in the refrigerator?
Yes. It is recommended to store the remaining liquid in the refrigerator.

Can the already mixed 7-Day Body Cleanse be consumed at room temperature?
Yes, but please store the remaining liquid in the refrigerator.

How long will it be until I experience the initial effects of the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
It will vary from person to person as everyone's diet, toxin exposure, age, gender and health status is different. Some experience more frequent trips to the bathroom within four hours of completing their first dose; others experience this 24 hours after their first dose.

How often can I use the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
Use the 7-Day Body Cleanse once a day, for seven consecutive days, every 30 days. Do not exceed recommended usage.

Is there anything I can do to increase the benefit of using the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
It is important to supplement the body with necessary nutrients while using the 7-Day Body Cleanse. Be sure to use the Arbonne Essentials Daily Power Packs, which are formulated for the special nutritional requirements of women and men. Also, a healthy diet and regular exercise can impact how the body performs and can help support the cleansing process of the 7-Day Body Cleanse. Additionally, eating fresh fruits and vegetables (organic, when available) and drinking a total of 64 oz. of water each day is a key element to success. Avoid alcohol, sugary foods (candy, cake, soda), fried foods, high fat and highly processed foods.

What type of experience can I expect after using the 7-Day Body Cleanse?
Results will vary from person to person. It depends on your age, gender, diet, nutritional status, toxin exposure and exercise activity. Some have felt an increased energy level within as few as four hours of taking the 7-Day Body Cleanse. As your body starts to cleanse, you may experience fatigue, constipation, bloating, loose stools and/or more frequent trips to the bathroom than usual. You should be more regular a few days after completing the 7-Day Body Cleanse. Be sure you are drinking at least an additional 32 oz. of water. If you find that you are uncomfortable, you may reduce your dosage by half for the first three days as your body is adjusting. After the first few days of cleansing, most people begin to feel better. Be sure to listen to your body. If you are feeling tired, it is important to take time for yourself and rest. Allow the body to cleanse properly. Avoid strenuous aerobic exercise. Walking, swimming, yoga and Pilates are great exercises that complement a cleansing program.

Is it important to drink an additional 32 oz. of water?
Yes. Drinking at least an additional 32 oz. of water is very important. When cleansing, fluids (water) in the body and intestines are used to move waste and excess fluids out of the body. If the body is not properly hydrated by consuming plenty of water, discomfort may be experienced. Be sure to mix the 7-Day Body Cleanse with 32 oz. of water and drink an additional 32 oz. of plain water to ensure proper hydration.

7-Day Cleanse starts Monday 4/15- Part 1

Hello!  We were talking about the 7-Day cleanse product today at school and I want to be sure everyone knows what to do:

Step 1- Order the 7 Day cleanse if you haven't already.

Step 2

Take one vial of the supplement and blend it well with 32 ounces of cold water and a fizz stick to improve the taste. Sip the concoction over the course of the day. Shake the bottle before each sip that you take- the contents tend to settle. A 1 liter bottle may be a good idea to use in order to have the ability to carry the drink with you all day.

Step 3

Repeat usage for seven consecutive days. You should stop after the seven days and wait at least one month before using the product again.

Step 4....Woohoo!  This step we have DOWN!

Follow a diet made up of mostly fruits and vegetables. Alcohol, caffeine, processed foods, fried meals, and sugary treats are not recommended during the detox. A minimum of eight glasses of water should be consumed daily.

Step 5

.Arbonne recommends 30 minutes daily of gentle activity- yoga, tai chi, walking, swimming etc.

Let's weigh in...

It's been one week since we started the program.  I am so happy with the way I feel, how easy it is and that I have LOST 4.5 POUNDS!  After a very gluttonous vacation I had gained 7 pounds so am nearly back to where I started pre-vacay.  No matter what the number of pounds the important piece for me is that I feel so much better.
This weekend was a bit challenging.  We traveled to NM to see George Strait in concert.  I tried my best to stay within the guidelines.  I brought my shakes, chews, fizzes and bars with us so we'd be set up for success.  Eating out and being social (country music and beer are a winning combo) definitely took will power and some creative adjustments to the menu.  However, I found that if you order a la carte or off the side items menu you can be compliant.  These days so many people have allergies or dietary restrictions that the servers we encountered were gracious and understanding.
I hope you are feeling equally successfully and good!

Quote of the day...

“Don’t eat anything your great-great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food. There are a great many food-like items in the supermarket your ancestors wouldn’t recognize as food (Go-Gurt? Breakfast-cereal bars? Nondairy creamer?); stay away from these.”~ Michael Pollan author of Food Rules, Omnivores Dilemma and soon to be released : Cooked

Isn't it amazing how you need to read a simple, no-duh sentence to remind you of what we all already know?  There's something to this!  I actually stopped and realized today- WOW!  I have a lot of energy!  Sans alcohol, caffeine or sugar.  When was the last time that you felt so good you actually recognized it?

Day 2..So far, so good...

I purposely held off on writing a post the first day.  I wanted to at least give it a day before I was either overzealous with enthusiasm or Debbie Downer with my woes of lacking caffeine.
Turns out- it's not too bad.  The smoothie in the morning is a breeze, I rarely have time for lunch anyway so a quick shake is perfect and dinner is not too far off from how we eat anyway.  It's all very doable. I'm very interested in seeing how I feel after a week.
Thought for the day:
